Sculpting the Legacy: The GTR Widebody and Exterior Craftsmanship
A Shoreline 911 announces its presence long before you hear the howl of its air-cooled flat-six.
While the mechanical components provide the pulse and the interior creates the sanctuary, the exterior is the statement. At Shoreline, our design philosophy is rooted in preserving the timeless, iconic silhouette of the classic Porsche 911, while injecting it with a level of aggression, precision, and muscularity that simply did not exist in the factory originals.
When you commission a Shoreline 911 Classic, Modern, or Evolution, you are not just choosing a color. You are defining a legacy. Here is how we craft the exterior of our bespoke backdates.
1. The GTR Widebody Conversion: Stance and Purpose
Power without stability is a compromise we refuse to make. To accommodate the massive mechanical grip provided by our upgraded suspension and modern tires, every Shoreline build undergoes our signature GTR Wide Body conversion.
We widen the haunches to create a stance that is impossibly aggressive yet completely harmonious with the original lines of the car. This is not about bolting on generic flares; it is about reshaping the metal to flow seamlessly from the doors through the rear quarters. The result is a car that looks planted, purposeful, and ready for the road, even when standing completely still.
2. Aerodynamics and The Details
We believe that form must always follow function. The visual enhancements on a Shoreline 911 serve a distinct aerodynamic purpose.
To keep the rear end grounded at high speeds, our builds feature a specialized lip-style, speed-activated elevating rear wing designed for increased downforce. We also integrate subtle but critical touches, such as the aero-style center-hood fuel filler system with a custom cap, paying homage to classic endurance racers while providing a tactile, mechanical experience every time you fuel up. Modern illumination is achieved through full LED headlights and indicators, ensuring absolute visibility without disrupting the vintage aesthetic.
3. The Unsprung Weight: Fuchs and Rubber
The relationship between the car and the road is defined by its footwear.
We utilize deep-dish 18-inch Fuchs-style wheels (18x10 front, 18x11 rear), wrapped in high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport tires. This specific setup provides the absolute best of both worlds: the iconic, unmistakable look of the greatest 1970s Porsches, paired with the exact grip and predictable breakaway characteristics required to handle our upgraded 3.8L powerplants.
4. Paint to Sample: Your Signature
Your Shoreline 911 does not just reflect a moment in time; it reflects you.
The final phase of the exterior transformation is the paintwork. Every chassis is stripped to bare metal, meticulously prepped, and painted to your exact specifications. Whether you want to revive a heritage Porsche color like Slate Grey or Riviera Blue, or develop a completely unique "Paint to Sample" (PTS) hue, the choice is yours.
To ensure this flawless finish outlasts the elements, every Shoreline build is protected with a full-car Paint Protection Film (PPF) before it ever turns a wheel on the tarmac.
The Road Awaits
It is not mass production; it is personal. From the sweeping curves of the widebody to the exact shade of your bespoke paint, every Shoreline 911 is built by hand with patience, precision, and intent.
