What actually separates a genuine backdate from a bolt-on kit?
Anyone can fit an aftermarket bumper kit over an existing 911. A real backdate is a different undertaking entirely: the donor is stripped to a bare shell, the proportions are reworked panel by panel to match the long-hood silhouette, and the mechanical package underneath is rebuilt from the ground up rather than left alone.
That distinction is the whole reason a Shoreline commission takes 8 to 12 months rather than a weekend in a workshop. It's also why the finished car drives the way it does: not a styling exercise sitting on top of an unchanged platform, but a car that's been re-engineered from the wheels up.

Do I need to provide the donor car?
No, you do not. We can source a high-quality donor car for you through our network of Porsche specialists. However, if you already own a suitable 964 or 993 generation 911, we are more than happy to evaluate it for the build process.
Can I drive it every day?
Absolutely. While they look like vintage cars, our backdates are engineered for modern drivability. Upgraded AC systems, sound dampening, hydraulic clutches, and refined suspensions make them suited for weekend drives or daily commutes.
